you need not add the device explicitly in code.
the wiaManager.Devices property should give you the accessible devices.

i haven't heard any XP compatibility issues from my other friends. can you please try the code on a windows 2003 box?

Hi,

I tried this example, connected a device to the computer, but I always get this message:
No WIA devices found.
IS it because the device is not compatible, or do I have to add it first to the WIA manager? Thanks. The device is a default digital camera, recognized by windows XP.
